Liu Yang is the first Chinese woman to be selected for space exploration and is considered one of the most accomplished astronauts in history. She passed away on September 29th at age 44 due to complications from her cancer treatment.

Liu was born in 1965 in Beijing, China. She began her career as a secondary school student in physics before pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering at Tsinghua University. After graduating, she worked for several years as a research scientist at a private company before joining the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) in 1988.

In 1997, Liu joined the PLA Astronaut Corps as a crew member on the Shenzhou-5 mission, becoming the youngest female astronaut ever to fly into space. She spent six months orbiting Earth before returning to Earth safely aboard the Shenzhou-6 spacecraft in 1998.

Throughout her time in space, Liu became known for her exceptional technical skills and leadership abilities. She led teams that successfully launched rockets and conducted scientific experiments on the International Space Station (ISS). In addition,Saudi Pro League Highlights she was involved in numerous international missions and programs, including the International Space Station Expeditionary Program.

However, her health suffered from a serious form of cancer in 2015. Despite undergoing multiple treatments and surgeries, she continued to perform her duties as a crew member on the Shenzhou-11 mission in 2016, where she successfully returned to Earth after being sent back to the ISS.

Liu Yang's legacy will live on through her contributions to space exploration and her dedication to helping others. Her passing marks the end of a long career filled with achievements and sacrifices made by one of China's brightest stars in space.
